It Ain’t Easy Being Green

The Green Party in Minnesota took a major hit this week when one of their few elected officials, Dean Zimmerman, was convicted in Federal Court of taking bribes. The severity of his crimes are relatively unimportant, but his conviction will probably torpedo any hopes the Greens had of expanding their base significantly during this election campaign.

One step forward, two steps back…

If anyone reading this blog is affiliated with the party, I’d love to hear your views on how this event hurts the party, or if it doesn’t hurt them much at all. They way they are rallying around him is very loyal, but probably political folly. Ah well, it’s not like they had a snowball’s chance of winning any of the big offices anyway…
